Of course, many people consider the fact that organic foods can be priced up to fifty percent higher than their GMO counterparts. Why is this?

Organic foods are more expensive to grow due to the fact that they need to be certified, they are more labor-intensive in tilling and removing weeds, and that there is the need to apply large amounts of organically approved pesticides. Pros Of Organic Foods

  • No pesticides can be used in the growth of organic foods. However, don’t mix this up with Non-GMO foods, many of these can be grown with pesticides.
  • Round-Up can’t be used in organic crops. However, Non-GMO crops can use round-up.
  • Organic crops don’t use toxic hexane. Many oils like soybean, corn, and canola use hexane to extract the oils. Hexane is a neurotoxin.
  • Sewage sludge is not allowed to be used on organic products.
  • Organic meats don’t have any growth hormones added to them. Studies show that meat products with growth hormones can adversely affect the cardiovascular system.
  • Animals raised organically aren’t given any products with antibiotics in them which can create superbugs.
  • Organic products must be certified organic. Non-GMO labels can be used by anyone.
  • People who eat organic foods are healthier than those who eat foods laden with pesticides, herbicides, and hormones.
